{sobenkyou)suru: to cram (figurative translation into English) for an exam

    Dear Mike-kun,
I am concerned about the use of the kanji before benkyou. Our friends in Japan can certainly read it, but I'm worried about the appropriateness (!?!) of its use in a public space, under school auspices. You wouldn't be able to use the English equivalent on a school website. I'd like you to change it to something more innocuous.
